Is Gears of War: E-Day on GeForce NOW? Yes. How to play it in the cloud

1. Buy the game on Steam or on the Xbox store. The Standard Edition costs $69.99.
2. Open the GeForce NOW app, or play.geforcenow.com in a browser, and connect the Steam or Xbox account that owns the game.
3. Search for Gears of War: E-Day and press Play. Nothing downloads.

The game unlocks on October 6, 2026, at 8 am PT (15:00 UTC). NVIDIA has not said yet which stores it will support. Gears of War: Reloaded, the last Gears game, came to GeForce NOW on its launch day, on Steam and on the Xbox store.

On PC, E-Day needs a graphics card with ray tracing, a GeForce RTX 2060 or a Radeon RX 6600 at least, and 115 GB on an SSD. GeForce NOW runs it on NVIDIA’s servers, so the PC, Mac or Steam Deck in front of you only plays the video.

2. Open xbox.com/play in a browser, or the Xbox app on a PC, an Xbox, a Fire TV or a smart TV.
3. Find Gears of War: E-Day and press Play from October 6, 2026.

PC Game Pass, $13.99 a month, includes E-Day on the day it comes out, but only as a download. Game Pass Premium does not include it at launch. Xbox says Premium gets Xbox games within a year of their release.

From November 2026, Ultimate includes 15 hours of cloud play a month. Microsoft will sell extra hours and has not given their price.

The Premium Edition, $99.99, opens the game on October 1, 2026, up to five days early. With Game Pass Ultimate, the Premium Upgrade costs $30 and gives the same early access. NVIDIA announced E-Day for the launch on October 6.

Not on Boosteroid. It has Gears 5 and Gears Tactics, from the Xbox store, but not E-Day and not Gears of War: Reloaded.

Shadow rents you a whole Windows PC, so you install E-Day from Steam or the Xbox app as on any PC. The game uses Easy Anti-Cheat, which stops some games on Shadow. E-Day is not on Shadow’s list of blocked games.

Not on PlayStation. E-Day comes out on Xbox Series X|S and PC only, so PlayStation Plus cannot stream it, and Amazon Luna does not have it.

On a Mac, a phone, a Chromebook or a smart TV, both services stream it. GeForce NOW has an app for macOS and for the Steam Deck. Xbox Cloud Gaming runs in a browser. The campaign’s split-screen co-op is on Xbox consoles only.

Gears of War: E-Day is The Coalition’s prequel to Gears of War. It tells Emergence Day, 14 years before the first game, with a young Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in Bravo Squad, over three days in the city of Kalona. The campaign plays solo or with up to four players online. Horde Siege puts three squads of four against waves and world bosses. Versus is 4v4 on new maps, with Ranked and Social playlists and cross-play.
