Two things can be free: the game, or the service that streams it. When both are, you play without paying anything. That only happens on GeForce NOW’s free membership, and the games below are the ones it runs. Further down, the free games that still need a subscription.

Two things, and they are worth telling apart. A game can cost nothing to own — Fortnite, Counter-Strike 2, Warframe — while the service that streams it still charges a subscription, because the subscription rents you the machine, not the game. Or the streaming itself can be free, on a plan that costs nothing. Only when both are true do you pay nobody, which is the case for the 148 games at the top of this page.
Yes, 148 of them. On GeForce NOW's free membership you can play any free-to-play game it lists, as long as it is not reserved for a paid tier and does not need installing into cloud storage first.
GeForce NOW has a free membership anyone can use. Amazon Prime includes Amazon Luna at no extra cost, with more than 50 streamed games. Xbox streams one game free — Fortnite, on xbox.com/play, with a free Microsoft account and no Game Pass. Boosteroid has neither: its help centre says a subscription has to be bought before anything starts, free-to-play games included.
No. Every service asks you to sign in, including the free ones: GeForce NOW needs an NVIDIA account, Luna an Amazon one, Xbox a Microsoft one. Creating them costs nothing and none of the free routes asks for a card.
It streams at 1080p and 60 frames per second, stops each session after an hour, shows ads before the game starts, and puts you in the queue for a machine at busy hours. Paid plans offer higher resolutions, longer sessions and priority access without pre-session ads, but a queue is still possible. Our servers page shows what the queue is doing right now.
