Quick answer
Two ways, both working today. Boosteroid streams the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 you own on Steam, Rockstar Games or Epic, at up to 4K and 120 fps, from €7.49 a month. PlayStation Plus Premium streams it from the Game Catalog with no purchase, on a PS5, a PS4, a PC or the PlayStation Portal, since May 2026. GeForce NOW does not have it and has not since 2020; Xbox Cloud Gaming and Luna do not either.
The Extended Look sent a lot of people back to Arthur Morgan, and many of them have no gaming PC or console within reach. RDR2 streams from two services right now, and this page is the step by step for each, what you need to own, and what it costs. Then the service everybody asks about first, and why it is the one without it. Availability reads from the same catalogue as our Red Dead Redemption 2 game page.
Where you can stream Red Dead Redemption 2 today
Own it on PC: Boosteroid, and the PC version is the one worth streaming. Do not own it: PlayStation Plus Premium. Both work tonight.
How to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Boosteroid
Boosteroid streams the PC version from your own account, and the PC version is the best one: 4K, high frame rates, and graphics settings the consoles never had. You need to own it on Steam, the Rockstar Games Launcher or Epic.
- Subscribe on boosteroid.com: €7.49 a month by the year, or Ultra Pro for 4K and 120 fps, which for RDR2 is worth it on a TV. No plan has an hour cap.
- Install the Boosteroid app (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Android TV, Samsung and LG TVs) or open the web client; on iPhone and iPad it runs in Safari.
- Search Red Dead Redemption 2 in the library, pick the store you own it on, and press Play.
- Sign in to your store inside the session, then to Rockstar Social Club. The first launch installs the game on the cloud machine; RDR2 is 120 GB, so expect a wait the first time only.
- Plug in a controller or play on keyboard and mouse. Rockstar’s cloud saves carry a save from your own PC across. Red Dead Online works on the same copy.

How to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation Plus
RDR2 joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in May 2026 for Extra and Premium members. Premium is the tier that adds cloud streaming, the service that used to be called PlayStation Now. You do not buy the game. It is the PS4 version, because Rockstar never made a PS5 edition, so it streams at up to 1080p.
- Subscribe to PlayStation Plus Premium (prices for your country); Extra can download it but not stream it.
- On a PS5 or a PS4, open the game in the Game Catalog and choose Stream instead of Download. On a Windows PC, install the PS Plus app and sign in; on the PlayStation Portal, switch to cloud streaming.
- A DualSense or DualShock controller is required on PC. There is no Mac, Android or iOS app for PS Plus streaming; a Mac or a phone can only use Remote Play from a console you own.
- Red Dead Online is included.
Sony rotates its catalogue, and Rockstar games have left it before. Check our RDR2 page on the day you subscribe.
Why is Red Dead Redemption 2 not on GeForce NOW?
RDR2 was playable on GeForce NOW during the beta, and disappeared with the rest of Rockstar’s catalogue when publishers had to opt in in early 2020. Rockstar did not, and has not since. Steam owners still ask on the forums whether their copy will work; it will not, because the game is not enabled on the service, whatever store you bought it on. Boosteroid runs that same Steam copy.
No Rockstar game is on GeForce NOW. Your Steam copy of RDR2 does not change that; it does work on Boosteroid.
Is Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Not at the time of writing. RDR2 has been in Game Pass twice, most recently in 2024, and left. Xbox’s stream-your-own-game feature, which lets Ultimate members stream owned games, does not list it. Our Xbox Cloud page reads the catalogue daily.
Is Red Dead Redemption 2 on Amazon Luna?
No. Luna has never carried a Rockstar game.
Red Dead Redemption 1 and the rest of Rockstar
The 2010 game came to PC in 2024, and to the PS Plus catalogue in November 2025. This list reads from the live catalogue.
- Red Dead Redemption — Boosteroid with a Steam copy of the 2024 PC release, Undead Nightmare included.
- Red Dead Online — Boosteroid with a Steam copy of the standalone release.
- Grand Theft Auto V — Boosteroid with a PC copy; PS Plus Premium from the catalogue. [Full page](/guides/gta-5-geforce-now).
- Grand Theft Auto IV — Boosteroid, Steam or Rockstar copy.
- Max Payne 3 — Boosteroid, Steam copy.
And the question everyone is asking this week: can you play GTA 6 in the cloud.
Questions
Can I play RDR2 in the cloud without buying it?

Which cloud service has the best version of RDR2?
Boosteroid, because it runs the PC version at up to 4K and 120 fps on the Ultra Pro plan. PS Plus streams the PS4 version at up to 1080p.
Can I play RDR2 on a Mac?
Yes, through Boosteroid’s macOS app with a PC copy. There is no native Mac version and no PS Plus streaming app for Mac.
Can I play Red Dead Online in the cloud?
Yes, on Boosteroid with the PC copy (RDR2 or the standalone Red Dead Online), and on PS Plus Premium.
Why is Red Dead Redemption 2 not on GeForce NOW?
